The Bay Ridge Historical Society meets on the third Wednesdays of most months, with breaks in the summer and winter.
All events are free and open to the public.

The Historical Society is off for the summer. Lectures will resume in the fall.

Historical Society vice president Henry Stewart reads from his new book, How Bay Ridge Became Bay Ridge, a comprehensive history of the neighborhood, from the Native Americans to the R train riders, from Shore Road to McKinley Park. He will have copies for sale, which he will sign.

Founded in 1976, the Bay Ridge Historical Society helps preserve the history of the Greater Bay Ridge Area, while enlightening current and past residents about its historic significance. It does so through slideshows, PowerPoint presentations, lectures, bus trips and tours. Its members have also published several books.
